Stay downtown, not next to the stadium
Campus-adjacent lodging books out a year ahead and triples in price. Downtown is a short ride from Notre Dame Stadium, and you get the city’s restaurants and nightlife for the other 20 hours of the day.
Get to campus early
Game-day traffic is real. Head to campus in the morning: walk the quads, see the Golden Dome and the Basilica, watch the band step off, and soak up the tailgating scene long before kickoff.
Stay the night after
The worst part of game day is the parking-lot exodus. Skip it entirely — walk back into downtown for a post-game dinner and celebrate (or commiserate) like a local. Your bed is minutes away.
